BUTLER - New gas station proposed
(by April Plantamura - Staff Writer - May 14, 2008)
BUTLER - An application for a new gas station to be constructed on the corner of Boonton Avenue and Route 23 North will be going before the Planning Board on Thursday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building.
Ross Kushner, executive director of the Pequannock River Coalition, is expressing some concern over the application. According to Kushner, if the gas station’s development is limited to the existing area of disturbance where a gas station had been previously, than it would not effect or disturb anything further.
However, if the property line is extended than it will impact steep slopes and sensitive downstream waterways.
Residents are encouraged to attend the Planning Board meeting to hear more information about the proposed application and how it might effect the surrounding areas.
