BUTLER - Trackside Bar & Grill: Great Food, Music and Ambience

(by Steve Sears - December 12, 2007)
BUTLER - Doesn’t it seem that the best chefs started cooking at a young age, under the watchful eye of their grandparents?

That was certainly the case with Scott Gabriel, owner of Trackside Bar & Grill in Butler. His culinary skills were molded under the watchful eye of his grandparents, Dominic and Genevieve Passenti, who owned the D & G Deli in Butler for 12 years.

Now, after formerly owning Prima Donna in Kinnelon, Gabriel is back in his hometown, and with him comes 18 years of experience in the restaurant business.

Trackside Bar & Grill, his for three years, is something he’s especially proud of. “We have a five-page open menu here, and everything is made to order.” Delicious appetizers, burgers, pasta, chicken, fresh seafood, steaks and daily specials make choosing a selection difficult.

The King Sizzler, a 16 oz. Delmonico Ribeye with mushrooms and onions in a secret sauce for $19 is a favorite, but so are the “special” nights. Tuesday is Sizzlin Steak night for only $14.95, while Wednesday night is Pastamania, where all pasta entrées - which include salad - are only $8.95.

The Penne Vodka, as well as the Farfalle Carnival, is often requested.

Thursday is a big evening also; customers filling the upstairs dining room of 50 seats and quaint bar area, as well as the adjoining downstairs bar (where food can also be ordered), enjoy All You Can Eat Crab Legs for $19.95 per person. There is also outdoor dining with surround sound and soft candlelight, in season.

Have a holiday party in the planning? Trackside offers on and off-premise catering for all your special occasions, including a private party room as well.

Trackside Bar & Grill is kid and family friendly with tunes from the '50s and the '60s playing while you enjoy your meal, and great service.
