Helen Gilberto

BLOOMINGDALE Services will be held for Helen S. Tintle Gilberto, 63, of this community, who died on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008.

Mrs. Gilberto was born in Franklin. She was a food service manager at Filk International, Morristown, for 10 years. Also, she was a member of the Bloomingdale Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler. Burial will be at Mount Rest Cemetery, Butler.

Mrs. Gilberto is survived by her mother, Dorothy Tintle; her brothers, Tom Tintle, David Tintle, Ronald Tintle, Philip Tintle, and Paul Heusser; and her sisters, Ann Jones and Phyllis Stymacks.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, and her father, W. Thomas Tintle.

Carol Webber

RINGWOOD Services will be held for Carol Ann Webber, 65, of Plantation, Fla., who died on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008. She was a former resident of this community.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Ringwood in the late 1970s and lived there before moving to Florida in the early 1990s. She was the owner of CAW Advertising, New York City.

Arrangements are by Fred Hunter’s Memorial Service, Florida.

She is survived by her son, Jonathan of Florida; her father and stepmother, Raymond and Dorothy of Ringwood; and her brother, Raymond. She was predeceased by her mother, Jennie.

Carol Rome

BLOOMINGDALE Services will be held for Carol L. Baecht Rome, 59, of this community, who died on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008.

Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Rome lived in Garfield before moving to Bloomingdale in 1979. She was an administrative assistant for Kovach Roofing, Pompton Lakes. Also, she was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Arrangements are by Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Mrs. Rome is survived by her husband, Michael; and her daughters, Belinda of Tamarac, Fla., and Michele of Succasunna. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Helen Baecht.

Anita Reilly

POMPTON LAKES Services will be held for Anita Reilly, 97, of Douglas, Ga., who died on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008. She was a former resident of this community.

Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Mrs. Reilly grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Douglas two years ago. She was a former president of the Pompton Lakes Women’s Club and a former chair of the Board of Trustees of the Pompton Lakes Free Public Library.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale.

Mrs. Reilly is survived by her sons, Peter of Ames, Iowa, and Edward of Douglas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; her parents, Alfred and Felicia Galdieri; her sister; and two brothers.

James Rogers

BLOOMINGDALE Services were held for James V. Rogers, 59, of Vernon, who died on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008. He was a former resident of this community.

Born in Paterson, Mr. Rogers lived in Bloomingdale before moving to Vernon. He was an engineer for 10 years with the New Jersey Department of Transportation before forming the JR Consulting Group. Also, he was one of Vernon’s township engineers and had worked for Suburban Engineers, CV Associates, and Haks Engineers, Architects, and Land Surveyors before finding self-employment with a P.E. license in both New York and Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the National Guard as well.

Services were Saturday at the St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Spring Lake, followed by burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Matthews; his daughters, Chelsea, Lindsey, and Kortney; his parents, Stanley and Betty; his brother, Jay; and his sister, Janet Ryans.

George Koban

PEQUANNOCK Services will be held for George Koban, 87, of the Pompton Plains section of this township, who died on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008.

Born in Dupont, Pa., Mr. Koban lived in Lincoln Park before moving to Pompton Plains seven years ago. He was an insurance underwriter for Fireman’s Fund Insurance, New York City.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale.

Mr. Koban is survived by his sisters, Mary Jacobs of Newport, N.H., and Ann Cooper of Towson, Md.

He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary.

Alan Grabowski

BLOOMINGDALE Services were held for Alan G. Grabowski, 67, of Wayne, who died on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008. He was the father of Robert of this community.

Services were Saturday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by mass at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Bloomfield.

Mr. Grabowski also is survived by his daughters, Lori Polifonte of Bloomfield and Patricia Grabowski of Jersey City; his brother, Bobby of Clifton; his sister, Lorraine Zahner of Wanaque; and five grandchildren.

Rose Casale

WEST MILFORD Services were held for Rose M. Salerno Casale, 86, of Totowa, who died on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008. She was the mother of Peter of this township.

Services were Saturday at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa, followed by mass at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. Interment was at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to American Cancer Society, New Jersey Division, Bergen County Unit, 20 Mercer St., Hackensack, NJ 07601.

Mrs. Casale also is survived by her other sons, Steven of Wayne, Nicholas of Hamilton, and Ronald of Totowa; her sisters, Margaret Avolio of Totowa and Jennie DiSpirito of Lodi; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; her sisters, Columbia Rusciano, Josephine Campana, Lucy Manfredi, and Nina Chirichella; and her brother, Nicholas Salerno.

Maddalena Mazzoccoli

WEST MILFORD Services were held for Maddalena Gallipoli Mazzoccoli, 85, of Paterson, who died on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008. She was the mother of Pasquale of this township.

Services were Saturday at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa, followed by mass at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. Entombment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa.

Mrs. Mazzoccoli also is survived by her husband, Rocco; her daughters, Teresa Petrozza of Wayne, Rosa Mazzoccoli of Italy; her other son, Giuseppe of Paterson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Louis Buonforte Sr.

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Louis A. Buonforte Sr., 82, of Hawthorne, who died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008. He was the father of James of this township.

Services were Monday at Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne, followed by mass at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Donations may be sent to St. Anthony’s R.C. Church.

Mr. Buonforte also is survived by his wife, the former Jennie Vita; his other sons, Louis of Wayne and Joseph of Saylorsburg, Pa.; his daughters, Mary Ann Vignali of Randolph and Barbara Barteld of Fairport, N.Y.; his brothers, Angelo of Oak Ridge and Henry of Sumter, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Kenneth Dyak

WEST MILFORD Services were held for Kenneth G. Dyak, 54, of this township, who died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008.

Services were Saturday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

Mr. Dyak is survived by his wife, the former Cynthia D’Auria; his daughter, Cheryl; his son, Brian; his sister, Doris Arena; and his brothers, Nelson and Charles.

Violet Kaminsky

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for Violet C. Kaminsky, 84, of Manchester Township, who died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008. She was the mother of Lon of this community.

Services were Tuesday at the DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, Lakehurst, followed by mass at St. John’s R.C. Church, Lakehurst. Interment was at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

Mrs. Kaminsky also is survived by her other son, Mark, of Hackensack; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

Edward Connelly

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Edward A. Connelly, 71, of the Pompton Plains section of this township, who died on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008.

Born in Paterson, Mr. Connelly lived in Little Falls for most of his life and in Boca Raton, Fla., before moving to Pompton Plains. He was a schoolteacher for the Clifton public school system and later the owner and operator of the Edward A. Connelly Insurance Agency, Paterson.

Services were Monday at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes. Arrangements were by Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff. Donations may be sent to the Diabetes Foundation, 13 Sunflower Ave., Paramus, NJ 07652.

Mr. Connelly is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Nicholas of Hardyston and Leslie Donato of Wyckoff; his brother, Brian, of Bloomingdale; his former wife, Patricia Connelly; his other former wife, Marjorie Kincaid; and four grandchildren.

Dana Scott Walker Jr.

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for Dana Scott Walker Jr., 90, of Oakland, who died on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008. He was the father of Dana of this community.

Services were Monday at Oakland Memorial Home, Oakland, followed by burial at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Oakland First Aid Squad.

Mr. Walker also is survived by his wife, Helen; his other son, Robert of Frederick, Md.; three grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Mary DeFalco

BLOOMINGDALE Services will be held for Mary C. Paluzzi DeFalco, a resident of this community, who died on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008.

Mrs. DeFalco lived in Hasbrouck Heights and Wood-Ridge before moving to Bloomingdale. She was an inspector for Becton-Dickinson, East Rutherford, before retiring. Also, she was a past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3616 Ladies Auxiliary, Wood-Ridge. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Senior Citizens, Lyndhurst, the Hasbrouck Heights Leisure Club, and AARP as well.

Arrangements are by Costa Memorial Home, Hasbrouck Heights. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Mrs. DeFalco is survived by her son, Anthony Compitiello of Hopatcong; her daughter, Joanne Walsh of Wayne; her sister, Ann Mustardo of Toms River; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Compitiello; her second husband, Sal DeFalco; and her daughter, Mary Ann Nolan.

Maurice Rosenberg

RIVERDALE Services were held for Maurice Rosenberg, 80, of this community, who died on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008.

Services were Monday at the Eden Memorial Chapel, Fort Lee.

Yola Pelleschi

WANAQUE Services were held for Yola Giovannini Pelleschi, 96, of the Haskell section of this township, who died on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008.

Born in Barnsboro, Pa., Mrs. Pelleschi lived in Paterson for most of her life before moving to Haskell. She was a homemaker, a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson, and a member of the church’s senior club.

Services were Tuesday at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa, followed by mass at St. Gerard R.C. Church. Interment was at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.

Mrs. Pelleschi is survived by her son, James of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand.

Gloriana Vaz

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for Gloriana Vaz, 84, of Land O’Lakes, Fla., who died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008. She was a former resident of this community.

Born in Sao Miguel, Portugal, Mrs. Vaz came to the United States 36 years ago and lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Land O’Lakes in 2004. She was a molder at Plastic Products Manufacturing Company, Cranford, before retiring in 1977.

Services were Tuesday at Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by interment at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.

Mrs. Vaz is survived by her daughters, Graca Roscoe and Guida Pereira; and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Armindo.
