POMPTON LAKES - The majority of voters came out in support of incumbents Lloyd Kent and Rick Steele.

In the unofficial tally, nearly 70 percent of the registered voters in the borough came out the polls on Election Day. Of the 7,561 registered voters, 5,240 took part in the political process. Kent tallied the most votes with 2,547, and Council President Steele came in second with 2,547.

Democratic candidates Carl Padula and Robert Morse received 2,178 and 2,070 votes respectively.

Both winning candidates were thankful for those who came out in support of them.

“I think it's great we are going to continue to work for Pompton Lakes,” said Steele.

“This is great, we worked very hard and we had a lot of support. I want to thank a lot of people for everything they did to elect us to serve the residents of Pompton Lakes for another  three years,” said Kent
