OBITUARIES - 10/22/2008


Francis Malone

WANAQUE Services were held for Francis J. Malone, 67, of the Haskell neighborhood of this community, who died on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008.

Born in Darby, Pa., Mr. Malone lived in Upper Darby before moving to Haskell 18 years ago. He was a union truck driver for United Parcel Service for 30 years.

Services were Tuesday at the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale.

Mr. Malone is survived by his wife, the former Sophia Wos; his son, Ronald, of Haskell; his daughter, Lori Ann Rochinski, of Butler; his brother, Jack, of Victorville, Calif.; and a granddaughter.

Barbara Davis

WEST MILFORD Services will be held for Barbara Jane Davis, 79, of this township, who died on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008.

Born in Warwick, N.Y., she was a lifelong resident of West Milford. She was an assembler for Aircraft Radio Industries, Boonton, before retiring.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Interment will be at Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the West Milford Animal Shelter Society, P.O. Box 72, West Milford, N.J. 07480.

She is survived by her sons, Jon of Pennsylvania, and Matt of the Hewitt neighborhood of West Milford; her daughter, Margie, of West Milford; her sister, Nina Flynn, of Riverdale; and three grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth.

Kay Appelbaum

WEST MILFORD Services were held for Kay T. Ferrante Appelbaum, 95, of this township, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008.

Mrs. Appelbaum lived in Tamarac, Fla., New York City, and Upper Greenwood Lake before moving to West Milford. She was a retail business owner before retiring. Also, she was a founding member of the Jewish Community Center of Upper Greenwood Lake and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Volunteer Fire Department of Upper Greenwood Lake.

Services were Sunday at the Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn, followed by burial at King Solomon Memorial Park, Clifton. Donations may be sent to the Michelle Appelbaum Mitzvah Group of Temple Beth Haverim-Shir Shalom, 280 Ramapo Valley Rd., Mahwah, N.J. 07430.

Mrs. Appelbaum is survived by her sons, Marc and Stephen; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Abraham; and a granddaughter.

Frank Harris

LINCOLN PARK Services were held for Frank “Bud” Harris, 66, of this community, who died on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008.

Mr. Harris lived in Clifton before moving to Lincoln Park. He was the owner of NAB Alarm Systems, Lincoln Park, for more than 30 years.

Services were Saturday at the Caggiano Memorial Funeral Home, Montclair. Donations may be sent to the Scleroderma Foundation, Attn: Donations, 300 Rosewood Dr., Danvers, Mass. 01923.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Xianghua “Michelle” Harris; his daughters, Nicole Csemez, and Amanda DeGroot; his stepson, Yonggen “Roy” Zhu; his sisters, Contsance Ruggiero and Karyn Zerance; and four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald.

Ellen Larcom

RINGWOOD Services were held for Ellen M. Larcom, 71, of Rockaway Township, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008. She was the sister of Anne Badia of this community.

Services were Saturday at the Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville. Donations may be sent to St. Bernard’s Church, 22 St. Bernard Dr., Rockaway Township, N.J. 07866.

She also is survived by her brothers, Charles of Morris Plains, and Paul of Hobe Sound, Fla.

Robert Huizer

BUTLER — Services were held for Robert Huizer, 72, of Manchester, who died on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008. He was a former resident of this borough.

Born in Paterson, Mr. Huizer lived in Oakland for 10 years and in Butler for 32 years before moving to Manchester five years ago. He was a marketing director in the aerospace industry, first with Singer-Kearfott, Totowa, and then with GEC Aerospace, East Hanover, and finally with Breeze-Eastern Corp., Union, before retiring in 1999. Also, he was president of the Bloomingdale Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the Renaissance Golf Club, the Passaic and Morris County clubs, and the Renaissance Bocce Ball League, Manchester, as well.

Services were Tuesday at the Oliverie Funeral Home, Manchester, followed by burial at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hopper Ave., Toms River, N.J. 08753.

Mr. Huizer is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Bamberger, of Boca Raton, Fla.; his sons, Gregory of Ankeny, Iowa, and Robert of Trenton; his sisters, Dell Whitfield of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jean Kowal of Bellflower, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Janet.

Anna Wuillamey

RINGWOOD Services were held for Anna Conti Wuillamey, 80, of this community, who died on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Wuillamey lived there before moving to Ringwood 54 years ago. She worked for Tiedeman and Sons, Mahwah. Also, she was a professional seamstress. She was a member of the Ringwood Senior Citizens as well.

Services were Tuesday at the D’Agostino Funeral Home, Wanaque, followed by mass at St. Catherine’s R.C. Church, Ringwood. Interment was at Crest Haven Cemetery, Clifton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Eva’s Village, 393 Main St., Paterson, N.J. 07501.

Mrs. Wuillamey is survived by her daughters, Patricia Conklin of Ringwood, and Barbara Kindrick of London, England; her brother, Charles Conti, of South Carolina; and five grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; her son, Frederick; and her sisters, Marie Matteo and Esther Conti.
