RIVERDALE - Borough man indicted on sexual assault charges
RIVERDALE - A Morris County Grand Jury returned a 40-count indictment Tuesday charging a Riverdale man with various sex crimes, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.
The indictment charges James Nalbone, 42, of Riverdale, with eight counts of first degree aggravated sexual assault, eight counts of second degree sexual assault, eight counts of third degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, eight counts of fourth degree criminal sexual contact and eight counts of third degree endangering the welfare of a child.
According to Robyn D'Onofrio of the Prosecutor's Office, the charges stem from separate incidents that were sexual in nature and allegedly occurred at various locations in Morris County between July 1, 2007 and October 31, 2007.
Riverdale Police Detective Richard Roemmele led the initial investigation. Nalbone was arrested in December 2007.
If convicted of the charges, the defendant faces a potential prison sentence of approximately 30 years with 85 percent to be served before he is eligible for parole. The defendant would also be subject to parole supervision for life and Megan’s Law.
