Marie Owens

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for Marie A. Dox Owens, 79, of Wayne, who died on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. She was a former resident of this community.

Mrs. Owens lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Wayne 15 years ago. She was a homemaker.

Services were Saturday at the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 2004, Wayne, NJ 07474.

Mrs. Owens is survived by her son, Gary, of Stockholm; her brother, Matthew Dox, of Wayne; and two grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, John; and by her parents.

Jeanne Walsh

BUTLER Services were held for Jeanne J. Walsh, 79, of this borough, who died on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008.

Born in Jersey City, she moved to Butler 36 years ago. She was a dividend calculator for Prudential Insurance Co., Newark and Parsippany, for 40 years before retiring 22 years ago.

Services were Thursday at St. Anthony R.C. Church, Butler. Arrangements were by the Fallon Funeral Home, Jersey City.

She is survived by her brothers, William and Robert.

Dorothea Levine

WEST MILFORD Services will be held for Dorothea Kazinsky Levine, 61, of this township, who died on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008.

Mrs. Levine moved to West Milford in 1955. She worked in the gift shop at Fireside Furniture, Pompton Plains. Also, she was a member of the West Milford Ladies Elks.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Burial will be at Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford. Donations may be sent to the West Milford First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 387, West Milford, NJ 07480-0387.

Mrs. Levine is survived by her husband, Jordan; her sons, Howard of the Hewitt neighborhood of West Milford, and Michael of West Milford; her daughter, Laurie Banta, of Hewitt; and three grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Anton Kaznisky.

Kermit Dockray Jr.

WEST MILFORD Services were held for Kermit J. Dockray Jr., 66, of this township, who died on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008.

Mr. Dockray was an electrician for Okonite, Paterson. Also, he was the manager of the Over 40 Men’s Softball Team, manager and coach of Little League Baseball, and manager of the Pee Wee Football League, all in West Milford.

Services were Tuesday at Moore’s Home for Funerals, Wayne, followed by mass at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, Wayne. Interment was at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St., Hackensack, NJ 07601.

Mr. Dockray is survived by his wife, the former Bernadette Wells; his sons, Jeff and Keith; his daughters, Lisa Dunn, Amy Dockray, Karyn DiBerardino, and Christina Dockray; his brothers, Thomas and Robert; his sister, Rita; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his father, Kermit, and his wife Rita; and his sister, Linda.

Mariann Buckey

WANAQUE Services were held for Marianne F. Benedetto Buckey, 72, of this community, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008.

Born in Alliance, Ohio, Mrs. Buckey lived in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and then in Wayne for 38 years before moving to Wanaque two years ago. She was a secretary for the Ohio Power Company, Canton, for four years. Also, she was a first runner-up in the Miss Carnation Beauty Pageant in Alliance.

Services were Monday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.

Mrs. Buckey is survived by her husband, Daniel; her daughters, Denise Gaeta of Wayne, and Dana Baum of Lincoln Park; her son, Daniel, of Lincoln Park; and seven grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey; and her brother, Richard Benedetto.

Arthur Rudolph

RINGWOOD Services were held for Arthur Thomas Rudolph, a resident of Dumont, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008. He was the father of Kathy of this community.

Services were Saturday at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont, followed by interment at Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. Arrangements were by the Frech Funeral Home, Dumont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. John’s Council 1345, Knights of Columbus, 61 Armour Place, Dumont, NJ 07628.

Mr. Rudolph also is survived by his wife, the former Mary Svetlin; his other daughters, Lori of Morris Plains, Debbie of Westwood, and Susan of Morris Plains; his sister, Helen; and six grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Helen.

Maralda Sienkiewicz

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Maralda “Mickie” M. Sienkiewicz, 76, of Wayne, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008. She was the mother of Craig of the Pompton Plains section of this community.

Services were Saturday at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa, followed by mass at Our Lady of Pompeii, Paterson. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the family.

Mrs. Sienkiewicz also is survived by her daughters, Sandra Santangelo of Park Ridge, Valerie Stansill of Tampa, Fla., and Pamela Soroka of Wayne; her brothers, John Mattei of Germany, Joseph Mattei of Wayne, and Michael Mattei of Paterson; her sisters, Marie Mockler of Pompton Lakes, Lena Schab of Saddle River, Rosemary Luisi of Totowa, and Patricia Iorio of Pompton Plains; and five grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; her parents, Pasquale and Marianna Mattei; and her brother, Angelo Mattei.

Gary Greiner

BLOOMINGDALE Services were held for Gary G. Greiner, 77, of Wantage, who died on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008. He was the father of Gail Greiner-Wojciechowski of this community.

Services were Monday at the Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex, followed by mass at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Hardyston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Prince of Peace Mortgage Fund, 3320 State Highway 94, Hamburg, NJ 07419.

Mr. Greiner also is survived by his sons, Gary of Lafayette and Ted of Sparta; and four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Helen; and his sister, Beverly Bernat.

John Peragallo Jr.

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for John S. Peragallo Jr., 76, of Paterson, who died on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008. He was the father of Christine Egan of this community.

Services were Tuesday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by mass at St. Brendan’s R.C. Church, Clifton. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the John Peragallo Jr. Organ Scholarship for Aspiring Organists, Marywood University, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509 or to the Salesian Sisters of St. Joseph Villa, 655 Belmont Ave., Haledon, NJ 07508.

Mr. Peragallo also is survived by his wife, the former Christine Rainey; his sons, John of Wayne, Frank of North Haledon, and Stephen of Baltimore, Md.; his sister, Catherine Miller, of Hawthorne; 10 grandchildren; and great-grandson.

Britt Wennerstrand

LINCOLN PARK Services were held for Britt Wennerstrand, 77, of Lincoln Park, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008.

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, she lived in Miami, Fla., and in Montclair before moving to Lincoln Park five years ago. She was a caregiver in the health field. Also, she was a member of the Preakness Bible Church. She was a veteran of the Swedish Air Force, an elite gymnast, an expert equestrian, and an Olympic level swimmer as well.

Services were Saturday at the Preakness Bible Church. Arrangements were by the Keri Memorial Home, Lincoln Park.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Grunwald; her sister, Anita Axelson, of Sweden; and two granddaughters.

Francis Jellema

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Francis Jellema, 82, of Wayne, who died on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. He was the brother of Dorothy Westra of the Pompton Plains section of this community.

Services were Tuesday at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, Franklin Lakes, followed by interment at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be sent to the Preakness Valley United Reformed Church, Missionary Fund, 480 Valley Road, Wayne, NJ 07470.

Mr. Jellema also is survived by his wife, Jean; his sons, Roy of Wayne, and Brian of Wilson, N.C.; his daughter, Linda Bruins, of Davidson, Md.; his other sister, Gladys Tuit, of Ringwood; and seven grandchildren.

Catherine Maher

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Catherine Maher, 91, of Oakland, who died on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. She was the sister of Theresa Collins of the Pompton Plains section of this community.

Services were Tuesday at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne, followed by mass at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Interment was at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens, N.Y.

She also is survived by her brother, James Maher.

She was predeceased by her parents, Teresa and Michael Maher.

Joyce Schreck

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Joyce Ann Marootian Schreck, 70, of Clifton, who died on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008. She was the mother of Karen Natoli of this township.

Services were Monday at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Clifton, followed by mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Clifton.

Mrs. Schreck also is survived by her son, Joseph, of Clifton; her other daughters, Eileen Giardina, of Sparta, and Maureen Roche of Budd Lake; and seven grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; and her brother, Richard Marootian.

Oliver Holmes

WEST MILFORD Services were held for Oliver Wendell Holmes, 74, of Paterson, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008. He was the father of Kathleen Quigley of this township.

Arrangements were by the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Clifton.

Mr. Holmes also is survived by his other daughter, Deborah Horn, of Lincoln Park; his former wife, the former Rosalie Aliotti; his brothers, Harold of Little Egg Harbor, and Emberton of Woodbridge, Va.; and five grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Horace and Jennie; and his brothers, Horace and George.

Robert Motta

PEQUANNOCK Services will be held for Robert Motta, 80, of Clifton, who died on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008. He was the father of Christopher of the Pompton Plains section of this community.

Arrangements are by the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Clifton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the New Jersey Animal Rights Alliance, P.O. Box 174, Englishtown, NJ 07726 or to the St. Andrew School Library, 418 Mt. Prospect Ave., Clifton, NJ 07012.

Mr. Motta is survived by his wife, the former Zita DeLucia; his sons, Christopher of Pompton Plains, and Gregory of Clifton; his daughters, Janine Motta of Manalapan, and Aimee Perella of Huntington, Vt.; his sister, June Baba, of San Carlos, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
