Grant Taylor Sr.

BLOOMINGDALE Services will be held for Grant D. Taylor Sr., 87, of this community, who died on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008.

Born in St. Petersburg, Fla., Mr. Taylor lived in Bloomingdale for most of his life. He was a machine operator for Amerace, Butler. A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion, Butler, and John A. Dean Post 154. He was a member of the Bloomingdale Methodist Church as well.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. Interment will be at the First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pequannock.

Mr. Grant is survived by his wife, the former Iva Beegle; his sons, James of Butler, and Grant of Twain Harte, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ruth Chrekjian

PEQUANNOCK Services will be held for Ruth Y. Young Chrekjian, 88, of this township, who died on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008.

Born in Hackensack, Mrs. Chrekjian lived in Ringwood for 58 years before moving to the Pompton Plains section of Pequannock eight months ago. She was school principal for the West Milford school district and a past president of the Ringwood Board of Education.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Bloomingdale Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 24, Bloomingdale, N.J. 07403 or to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th St. NW, P.O. Box 97180, Washington, D.C. 20090.

Mrs. Chrekjian is survived by her husband, George; her daughters, Georgann Woods of Brookline, Mass., and Jane Mathews of Ringwood; her brother, Gilbert Young, of Ringwood; her sister, Muriel Yereance, of Pensacola, Fla.; and her granddaughter.

Jay DeRaffele

WEST MILFORD Services were held for Jay J. DeRaffele, 26, of this township, who died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008.

Born in Ridgewood, Mr. DeRaffele was a lifelong resident of West Milford. He was a self-employed mechanic with DeRaffele Automotive, West Milford. Also, he was a member of the West Milford Elks 2236 Baseball League.

Services were Monday at the West Milford Presbyterian Church, West Milford, followed by interment at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood. Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the family.

Mr. DeRaffele is survived by his fiance, Jennifer Brady, his sons, Jayden and Brandon, his stepchildren, Caleigh Myers and Justin DeRafele, his parents, Jim and Joan, his brother, Jim, and his sisters, Julie Navarro and Jenny Sibley, all of West Milford; and his paternal grandmother, Anne, of Pennsylvania.

Trudy Yanushko

WEST MILFORD Services will be held for Trudy Semtak Yanushko, 47, of this township, who died on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008.

Born in Vernon, Mrs. Yanushko lived in Vernon before moving to the Hewitt section of West Milford 15 years ago.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford.

Mrs. Yanushko is survived by her son, Alex, of Hewitt.

She was predeceased by her husband, David; and her parents, Peter and Gertrude Semtak.

Leslie Daniel

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Leslie Edward Daniel, 70, of Wayne, who died on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008. He was a former resident of this township.

Born in Pequannock, Mr. Daniel lived in Haledon before moving to Wayne. He was a the founder of Mountain View Auto Body.

Services were Monday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wayne Memorial First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 291, Wayne, N.J. 07470.

Mr. Daniel is survived by his sons, Leslie of Wayne, and Clinton of Point Pleasant; his daughter, Esther, of Brick; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara.

Joseph Mistrick

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for Joseph A. Mistrick, 83, of Wayne, who died on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008. He was the father of Robert of this community.

Services were Monday at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne, followed by mass at Annunciation R.C. Church, Wayne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wayne Memorial First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 291, Wayne, N.J. 07470.

Mr. Mistrick also is survived by his daughters, Patricia Frost of Wayne, and Loretta Molczyk of Wayne; his sisters, Mary Ann Harold of E. Vandergrift, Pa., and Patricia Kolon of Florida; his brothers, George Mistrick of Leechburg, Pa., and Larry Marcin of Vandergrift Heights, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie.

Anastasia Sweeney

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for Anastasia B. Sweeney, 87, of this community, who died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008.

Services were Monday at the Oakland Memorial Home, Oakland, followed by mass at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church, Butler. Burial was at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Autism Speaks.

Mrs. Sweeney is survived by her daughters, Maureen D’Ambrosio, Anastasia Cedermark, and Kathleen Passaro; her son, Daniel; her sister, Winifred Kelly; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; her son, Michael; her brother, Joseph Kelly; and her sister, Mary McKnight.

Shirley Finamore

WANAQUE Services will be held for Shirley A. Belmont Finamore, 65, of Wayne, who died on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. She was the mother of DeAnne of this community.

Arrangements are by the DeLuccia-Lozito Funeral Home, Haledon. Donations may be sent to Friends of Wayne Animals, P.O. Box 3701, Wayne, N.J. 07470.

Mrs. Finamore also is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Robert, of Pompton Plains; and her granddaughter.

Anna Saraceni

POMPTON PLAINS Services will be held for Anna Saraceni, 76, of this community, who died on Tuesday, August 19, 2008.

Born in Paterson, Mrs. Saraceni lived in Fair Lawn before moving to Pompton Plains 15 years ago. She was a nurse’s aide for the Van Dyk Nursing Home, Ridgewood, before retiring.

Arrangements are by the Scillieri Funeral Home, Paterson.

Mrs. Saraceni is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Sturgeon; her son, Salvatore Pizza; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mary Frast

RIVERDALE Services were held for Mary Geng Frast, 83, of Garfield, who died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008. She was the mother of Steven of this community.

Services were Tuesday at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, Clifton, followed by mass at St. Stephen’s R.C. Church, Passaic. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Stephen’s R.C. Church, 223 Third St., Passaic, N.J. 07055.

Mrs. Frast also is survived by her daughter, Nancy Shamdosky, of Ramsey; and two granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her husband, George; three brothers; and two sisters.
