NORTH JERSEY - Area 9/11 rememberances


Tomorrow will be the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Like many other watershed events, most Americans can remember where and when they were when the heard the news. For those want the company of their fellow citizens to honor those who died in the attacks and those who first responded, here are several local events.

Butler and Bloomingdale will hold a candlelight memorial walk Thursday starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Senior Center on Hamburg Turnpike and proceeding to Butler Park in Butler, where a memorial service will be held. Glow sticks will be provided. Participants are asked to gather at the Senior Center at 7 p.m.

 A remembrance ceremony will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in front of West Milford’s Town Hall, 1480 Union Valley Road. The ceremony remembers those who died, those who responded to the tragedy and those who have fought for freedom.

A Ringwood 9/11 Memorial dedication will be held Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Ringwood Public Library parking lot, 30 Cannici Drive.
