Kathleen Montegari

RINGWOOD Services were held for Kathleen Doherty Montegari, 69, of this community, who died on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008.

Born in Queens, Mrs. Montegari lived there before moving to Ringwood 41 years ago. She was a homemaker.

Services were Monday at the D’Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell, followed by mass at St. Francis R.C. Church, Wanaque. Entombment was at Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery, Kinnelon.

Mrs. Montegari is survived by her husband, Louis; her son, Scott, of Wanaque; her daughters, Lora Grosser of Vernon and Dawn Cleawater of Ringwood; her brothers, Donald Doherty and Stephen Doherty, both of Bethpage, Long Island; and eight grandchildren.

Josephine Melowic

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Josephine D. Melowic, 89, of Pompton Plains in this community, who died on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008.

Born in Passaic, Mrs. Melowic lived in Ortley Beach before moving to Pompton Plains.

Services were Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Pompton Plains, followed by burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery, South Hackensack. Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.

Mrs. Melowic is survived by her daughter, Patricia Gilland, of Pompton Plains; her sisters, Florence Salek and Sophie Kaprowski; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; her son, Richard; her parents, John and Catherine Kwasnik; her brothers, Walter Kwasnik and Edward Kwasnik; and her sisters, Emily Dypko, Stashia Chudzik, and Jeanne Callahan.

L. Ralph Saracco

WEST MILFORD Services will be held for L. Ralph Saracco, 75, of the Newfoundland section of this community, who died on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008.

Born in North Haledon, Mr. Saracco lived in Newfoundland for the past 29 years. He was a self-employed master plumber. Also, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. Interment will be at Midvale Cemetery, Wanaque.

Mr. Saracco is survived by his daughter, Lisa Harty, of Hewitt; his son, Frank Acker, of Florida; his brother, John, of Florida; his sister, Marion Carrdine, of Florida; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Evelyn Masker; and his brothers, Leo Stoffels and Louis Saracco.

Perry Babcock

POMPTON LAKES Services were held for Perry E. Babcock, 86, of this community, who died on Saturday, Aug.. 9, 2008.

Born in Wyalusing, Pa., Mr. Babcock lived in Pompton Lakes for the past 43 years. He was a technical writer for Phillips Electronics of North America, Mahwah, before retiring. Also, he was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a 40-year veteran and past president of Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad. And, he was a member of Pompton Lakes Golden Age Club.

Services were Tuesday at the Pompton Reformed Church, Pompton Lakes. Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad or Pompton Reformed Church.

Mr. Babcock is survived by his wife, the former Grace Thaler; his daughter, Leah; his son, Glenn; and a grandson.

Dolores Smith

BLOOMINGDALE Services were held for Dolores P. Smith, 82, of this community, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008.

Born in New York City, she lived there before moving to Bloomingdale. She was a teacher with the West Milford school system for 24 years. Also, she had taught in New York and Florida. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony R.C. Church, Butler, and was affiliated with Sisters of St. Dominick, Blauvelt, N.Y.

Services were Tuesday at Morrison Funeral Home, Butler, followed by mass at St. Anthony R.C. Church. Burial was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Finan, and predeceased by her parents, James and Margaret.

Joan Eurich

WEST MILFORD Services will be held for Joan C. Scheffel Eurich, 77, of this township, who died on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008.

Born in New York City, Mrs. Eurich lived in West Milford for the past 50 years. She was a school bus driver for the West Milford Board of Education before retiring.

Arrangements are by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. Interment will be at Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford.

Mrs. Eurich is survived by her daughter, Karen Beetham of Stockton. She was predeceased by her parents, Ulric and Katherine McGregor.

Florence Hannah

KINNELON Services will be held for Florence R. Hannah, 83, of this community, who died on Monday, Aug. 11, 2008.

Mrs. Hannah was born in Hammond, La. She was a homemaker. Also, she was a parishioner of St. John Vianey R.C. Church, Stockholm.

Arrangements are by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler.

Mrs. Hannah is survived by her husband, Russell; her brothers, William Riemer and Francis Riemer; and her sister, Mary Van Zile.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Agnes Riemer.

Ann Caputo

KINNELON Services were held for Ann Caputo, 79, of Eatontown, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008. She was the mother of Robin McCabe of this community.

Services were Monday at St. Dorothea’s R.C. Church, Eatontown, followed by entombment at Woodbine Cemetery & Mausoleum, Oceanport. Arrangements were by the Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Dorothea’s R.C. Church, 240 Broad St., Eatontown, N.J. 07724.

Mrs. Caputo also is survived by her son, Arthur, of Mendon, Mass.; her other daughters, Susan Valavanis of Fort Lee, and Donna Caputo of West Paterson; her brothers, Angelo Cincotta of New Jersey and Vincent Concotta of Australia; her sister, Mildred Kraples, of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband, Emil; her sisters, Mary Tarace and Josie Sottile; and a grandson.

Aural Gibson

RINGWOOD Services were held for Aural “Al” L. Gibson, 79, of the Township of Washington, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008. He was the father of Jean Monnecka of this community.

Services were Monday at Grace Episcopal Church, Westwood, followed by burial at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood. Arrangements were by Becker Funeral Home, Westwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Grace Episcopal Church, 9 Harrington Ave., Westwood, N.J. 07675.

Mr. Gibson also is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn White; his sons, Thomas and James, both of Ridgewood; his other daughter, Lynn Glynn, of Cheshire, Conn.; and 10 grandchildren.

Vita Alicchio

RINGWOOD Services were held for Vita Palmieri Alicchio, 73, of Totowa, who died on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008. She was the mother of Kim DeFrancesco of this community.

Services were Tuesday at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa, followed by mass at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. Interment was at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, N.J. 07834-1365.

Mrs. Alicchio also is survived by her husband, Gerard; her other daughter, Debra Rose Pavonte, of Totowa; her brothers, Anthony Palmieri of New Jersey and Thomas Palmieri of Washington Township; her sister, Carol Ann Raymond, of Ohio; and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Marc, and her sister, Theresa Reynolds.

Robert Cullen

KINNELON Services were held for Robert E. Cullen, 73, of Paterson, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008. He was the father of Patricia Christie of this community.

Services were Monday at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, Totowa, followed by mass at St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Passaic Valley Elks Special Children’s Fund, 1 Feldner Place, Totowa, N.J. 07512.

Mr. Cullen also is survived by his other daughters, Florence Pollio and Carol Minarick, both of Randolph; his sons, Michael of Leonard, and Robert of New York City; his brother, Leo, of Pompton Plains; his former wife, Carol Sue Cullen, of Little Falls; his companion, Monica Jannicelli, of Hawthorne; and eight grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother William.

June Palianto

WANAQUE Services were held for June Hiller Palianto, 79, of Hawthorne, who died on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008. She was the sister of Ella May Pizzuti of this community.

Services were Monday at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne, followed by interment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.

Mrs. Palianto also is survived by her husband, Robert; her sons, Robert of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Joseph of East Hanover; and six grandchildren.

Elizabeth Austin

PEQUANNOCK Services were held for Elizabeth H. Austin, 78, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008.

Born in Pompton Plains, Mrs. Austin was a lifelong resident of this community. She was an administrative assistant at Chilton Memorial Hospital before retiring. Also, she was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Fire Company No. 1, Pompton Plains.

Services were Tuesday at M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains, followed by interment at First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains Cemetery.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her son, Richard; her daughter, Susan Caudill; her brother, Charles Hunt; her sister, Gail DiLaura; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Robert Carver

WANAQUE Services were held for Robert William Carver, 83, of Spring Hill, Fla., who died on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008. He was a former resident of the Haskell section of this community.

Born in Orange, Mr. Carver lived in Haskell before moving to Spring Hill. He was a trailer truck driver for United Parcel Service, Parsippany, for 37 years before retiring in 1984. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Services were Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Haskell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Mr. Carver is survived by his daughter, Patricia Hoffmann, of Sparta; his sons, Wayne of Vista, Calif., and Don of Montague; and four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Deloris Illingworth.

Ilidko Kisssmith

BLOOMINGDALE Services will be held for Ilidko “Hildy” Kisssmith, 57, of this community, who died on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008.

Born in Budapest, Mrs. Kisssmith lived in Franklin Lakes before moving to Bloomingdale 14 years ago. She was a medical technologist at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock, for the last 20 years. Also, she had worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Wayne. She was an active member of many professional organizations as well.

Arrangements are by M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Chilton Memorial Hospital Cancer Center.

Mrs. Kisssmith is survived by her husband, Dean; her son, Anthony; and her brother, Peter.
